Paint The Town Red … or any color you like

Saturday - Mrach 6 and March 27

One-Day Class: 9:30 to 4 pm

$95 includes all materials

Historic Downtown Brunswick is full of intriguing architecture, rusty shrimpers and their nets hanging in loose swoops, bright mounds of fruits and vegetables at the farmer's market, and café coffee sippers on the sidewalks.  In this one-day class, artist Sue Byrne Russell will take you on an outdoor excursion in search of images and ideas that captures emotion, personally

and creatively, as shapes, spaces, and lines, all to be observed, sketched and painted. At midday, enjoy a Dutch treat lunch in one of downtown's fabulous local restaurants before returning to the studio to PAINT, PAINT, PAINT!

Artist Sue Byrne Russell is that rare combination of accomplished artist and outstanding teacher.  She combines all levels from beginning to advanced in an stimulating mix of seeing, sharing, learning, and doing.  Her teaching style is a shorthand version of everything essential
she learned in art school, some of her experience as a professional artist, and a lot of seat-of-the-pants ingenuity.  She has a BFA in graphic design from the University of Georgia, an MA in Art/Art Education from Arizona State University and 35 years of teaching experience.  Sue is the director of Hemlocks Studio, a mountain art retreat, in Cedar Mountain, NC.

The World Is A Stage. Learn To Work It Like A Star.

If you have ever dreamed of acting, are already an actor or just want to be more out going,

you will enjoy the classes Center Stage Actors Studio is offering at Art Downtown's Mary Miller Theatre.

Classes for adults and children are being offered two nights per week for eight weeks.  $175 per person

Class objectives are: to encourage creativity and fun in a professional environment, emphasize high standards of quality and personal development, teamwork, positive self-image and confidence, communications skills, self-discipline, poise, awareness

of the senses, use of the imagination and exploration and control of emotions -- all of which are as useful in our day to day lives

as they are on stage.

Michael Dyche has over 25 years experience as actor, voice-over talent, and director for stage and television.  He is also skilled in theater lighting and set design.  His acting talents have been used by companies such as AT&T, Pizza Hut, Primerica and Ford Motor Company.  Mike was a featured performer in the Fox Network children’s show, “Reality Check”, with Ryan Seacrest, in which he supplied the voices for 30 animated characters. He is often called to sing in jingles as himself and to perform sound-alike vocals such as Cat Stevens, Kenny Loggins and James Taylor.

“Mike is truly an amazing talent. Not only is he an outstanding actor but his ability to step on the other side of the stage and teach and direct sets him apart. He understands the challenges and struggles that actors face and has the unique ability to guide them through the process. I have worked with Mike both as an actor and director and know personally his ability to bring out the best in actors. He knows his craft and can create an environment for extraordinary growth

in his classes. He is indeed an actor’s mentor and director."
